A voice that sits lower than male R&B does, answered by its own falsetto.
Dele Okonkwo works in the alté tradition, where the organising principle is refusal rather than any particular sound. He sits at the bottom of his range and stays there, and answers himself in a floated falsetto that never quite settles. The records are sparse on purpose: the voice is the loudest thing on them because almost nothing else is.

KOLEVELDT is a character rather than a person. The lyrics are written by people; the voice is synthetic. How we make records.
